Santorini, like its Cycladic brethren, is a very sunny, and dry island, with cold windy winters, and most of the sparse rainfall in February and March.

Average temperature in the summer months is about 28 C/84 F, the winds keeping the temperature at a comfortable level. The meltemi winds that blow from the north in summer are less intense than Cycladic islands furhter to the north, but vary depending on how sheltered the location.
